Life’s transitions can be challenging even when it’s a positive change. Certain issues in life such as: starting a new job, beginning school, getting divorced, becoming an empty nester, changing professions, confronting a new or more difficult relationship, or anything that presents itself as a unique and/or difficult change can be a treatable concern in Transition Counseling. When these changes present themselves with identifiable physical symptoms such as stress, anxiety, or even depression, it can be diagnosed as an Adjustment Disorder and Transition Counseling is a step in the right direction.

Several important steps in Transition Therapy involve; understanding and accepting the upcoming changes, finding ways of limiting its impact, processing whatever difficulties there are, finding ways of tending to physical, emotional, and mental well-being, and implementing relaxation techniques. Techniques such as: exercise, yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises, and encouraging hobbies that fill time with constructive activities, have been found to be very helpful.
Transition Counseling will also help to better understand how these challenges can be used constructively to grow and improve life. Being assisted in learning one’s strengths and soft spots can help to gain a greater sense of self-confidence and how to move on towards a more fruitful life.
The therapists at Cairo Counseling are here to help overcome whatever trials present themselves in an understanding and helpful manner.
