Narcissists are famous for monkey branching, I’m not sure if they invented it, but they have mastered it. A narcissists new supply is waiting for the narcissist to dump their current partner. And they are starting their relationship in advance to save time or something. And the new supply will make any changes to the environment that the narcissist requested. It’s about having everything ready so when the narcissist discards their partner, they can monkey branch right into their next nightmare.
Monkey branching is utilized by female narcissists very often; they take as many of their partners assets as possible to relieve some of the financial burden on themselves. They want to make sure that their current partner is ruined before dumping them. They will break them financially if they can, and they are likely already emotionally checked out by now. Monkey branching is cheating and it’s the most disrespectful way to leave anyone. But narcissists can do it without any regret or remorse, oddly it’s the same way that they feel about cheating.
And when they are done with their partner, load up the SUV and head straight to the new supplies, one relationship ends, and another begins. Their ex is left alone with their thoughts, and misery. And the narcissist doesn’t give a crap and never did. Narcissists have relationships and aren’t single for a second before starting their next one. I’m not sure if Monkey branching is a sign of narcissism, but narcissists are Monkey branchers across the board.
