Mama’s Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 1 C Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 C Flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. Baking powder
  • ½ tsp. Baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 heaping TB of sour cream
  • Nuts, mini-chocolate chips, raisins, cherries (all optional)

Directions:

  • Mix sugar and eggs.
  • Add bananas (mashed)
  • Add vanilla
  • Add sour cream
  • Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add all remaining ingredients together.
  • Add melted butter (microwave in bowl for 45 seconds)
  • Mix in nuts, mini-chocolate chips, etc. (optional)
  • Put in bundt pan (coated with Pam or other spray so it doesn’t stick to the pan)
  • Bake for approximately 45 minutes on 350 degrees.  (Watch to make sure it doesn’t get too done. Touch it with your finger and see if it’s wiggly. If so, it needs more time)
  • Cool and glaze.

Glaze:

  • 2 cups of confectioner sugar
  • ¼ cup of milk or vanilla flavored creamer (Add slowly to create the perfect thickness.  More translucent, not too thick).
  • Blend well and drizzle on banana bread…..decorate with sprinkles 🙂
