BAKED GOUDA OR BRIE by RoseMary

INGREDIENTS

2 Pillsbury Crescent rolls (depending on size of cheese, you may not use all dough)

1 round Brie cheese or round Gouda cheese

1/3 cup of Dijon mustard

Small jar of apricot or fig preserves

1 egg white

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup of chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS

  • Take the cheese and spread the Dijon mustard all over it.
  • Top with a layer of apricot preserves
  • Wrap cheese with the strips of crescent roll dough to cover the entire cheese.
  • Set in a baking dish coated with nonstick spray.
  • Take the egg white (beat) and brush on seams of dough to prevent separation.
  • Sprinkle the top with brown sugar and pecans

Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and then turn it down to 300 degrees until cheese is melted.

Test by piercing the middle with a knife to make sure it’s soft.

Best to take out of the baking dish with a big spatula or serve in same dish.

Serve with grapes & crackers.  Put a side of apricot or fig preserves on the dish.

This is a real crowd pleaser!!!
