There is one feeling they cannot fake and can never pretend to feel, no matter how experienced and skillful in manipulation they might be. It requires humanity, connection, and a soul – something the narcissist lacks. It exposes them to their fullest extent and makes them utterly transparent. Only an empath can experience this emotion. The predator cannot feel it at all.
For the narcissist, any emotion is nothing but a means of making a profit, so they manipulate and exploit each other. However, this emotion contains neither transaction nor control, not to mention any agenda. Unlike everything the narcissist ever experienced, this emotion flows from depths that they have never developed. In this article, we are going to talk about one emotion that a narcissist will never fake.
Narcissists can imitate almost anything related to emotions. Affection, charm, empathy, admiration, excitement, and even sadness if it helps them in any way are just a few feelings that the predator can show. Their performances are so perfect because they analyze human emotions as language. Moreover, they reproduce everything they have seen done. They copy your expression and tone and get away with perfection every time.
However, gratitude unveils their lies by breaking the rules. It is gratitude because it requires some awareness of the fact that other people did something nice for you. In other words, it requires you to stop, surrender, and appreciate that life gave you another reason to be happy. This process threatens the predator and scares them out of their minds because for them, it is equal to dying.
Why Can They Never Feel Gratitude?
The fact is that they do not believe other people do them a favor. They are sure that they deserve everything they get. Their thankfulness is nothing but a mask, and underneath it hides their pure resentment. To the narcissist, being needed is humiliation. Thus, expressing their gratitude equals admitting weakness – and that is impossible to tolerate.
How They Ruin Themselves Spiritually
You see, gratitude brings us closer to spiritual enlightenment. It means that you recognize the purpose of everything – of people, life, experiences, etc. As a result, it lowers your ego to let you accept the fact that you are not the source of anything beautiful and precious. On the contrary, narcissists behave as if they were gods. They expect everything in their lives to revolve around them.
As a result, they get spiritually empty and detached from reality. Being unable to feel grateful and appreciate everything they have, they lose touch with life force flowing from them.
Think about a tree deciding that it does not need any water in order to convince everyone that it can survive on its own. It may look fine for some time, but soon it will start drying up from the inside. The same thing happens with a narcissist, and years later, you will see their dried-up souls.
